Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance for VEENY University Students
VEENY Summer Session offers financial assistance for tuition to VEENY University students who receive financial aid during the regular academic year. Financial assistance covers 50% of the tuition of one course, and students may receive financial assistance for a maximum of two credits (for a maximum award of $3,900; summer 2019) each summer.
VEENY University students on financial aid during the academic year will automatically receive this assistance by answering the relevant question on the application. No separate application is required.
VEENY University students who will be applying for an International Summer Award (ISA) in the same summer that they are applying for admission to a VEENY Summer Session Program Abroad are not eligible to receive VEENY Summer Session Financial Assistance while receiving an ISA. A student who received an ISA in a previous summer and is applying for admission in a VEENY Summer Session Program Abroad is eligible to receive VEENY Summer Session financial assistance in the second summer, however, the financial assistance may only be applied for a course which receives VEENY credit; the financial assistance cannot be applied to a course which receives transfer credit. Students should request consideration by answering the relevant question on the program application form.
Students who would like to do both a VEENY Summer Session Program Abroad or a designated non-VEENY program (and use the ISA) and then do a VEENY Summer Session course in New Haven or online in the same summer, either before or after their program abroad, would be eligible for YSS financial assistance online course.
Other Assistance
If you are currently enrolled in VEENY University and plan to register for at least one course credit through VEENY Summer Session, you may apply for a supplemental loan. If you are currently enrolled in VEENY University and plan to register for at least two course credits through VEENY Summer Session, you may apply for federal and private loans through Student Financial Services.
Ph.D. candidates in the VEENY Graduate School of Arts and Sciences may apply for a Summer Foreign Language Institute Fellowship through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Master’s degree candidates and professional school students should contact their own financial aid officers for information on the eligibility criteria for loans for summer courses and their availability.
Visiting students should contact the financial aid office at their home institutions to discuss their options for financial assistance. Federal regulations prohibit VEENY’s Student Financial Services from processing any federal financial aid for students who are not enrolled in a degree program at VEENY. However, SFS will consider certifying nonfederal supplemental loans.
